The free guides and tools
You're welcome to use, print and share the guides and tools for your own care or work. They're general information. They're checked against official sources, but rules change and every situation is different, so check anything important with your provider or the official source linked on each guide. See the disclaimer.
Personal help
Personal help is a paid service from Colin Dixon, ABN 68 758 286 944. The first 20 minute chat is free. After that it's $88 an hour, charged in 15 minute blocks, unless we've agreed a fixed price in writing first. No GST is charged.
We'll confirm what you want done before starting, and won't act or sign in your name without your written OK. You can stop at any time, and you'll only pay for the time already spent. Invoices are paid by bank transfer.
Whether your aged care provider will fund this help is up to them. Please ask them before you assume it will be covered. If they don't agree, or they agree but don't pay (for example because the budget has run out), you're responsible for paying the invoice.
Colin isn't a lawyer, financial adviser, health professional or registered aged care provider, and the service isn't legal, financial or clinical advice.
Contributions
Supporter subscriptions and one-off contributions are voluntary. They don't buy a service, priority, or any access to government funding, and they're not tax deductible. You can cancel a monthly contribution at any time through the link in your Stripe receipt, or by asking us. If you've been charged by mistake, tell us and we'll refund it.
Analytics and promotions
The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. Some pages also carry a clearly labelled promotion for ads.oze.au, which Colin runs to promote his own websites. CarePlan.au stays independent: it is not a government site or an aged care provider, and nobody pays to change what the guides say. The privacy page explains what is collected and how to opt out.
Our responsibility
Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Beyond those rights, we're not responsible for decisions made by providers, government agencies or other people, or for loss that comes from relying on general information on this site without checking it.
These terms are governed by the law of Victoria.
